How do we keep the review process on time?
-
The reviewers of your manuscript will be given 4 weeks
to complete their reviews, depending on the situations below.
-
When we send out your manuscript to reviewers, we allow 4
weeks for them to return their review reports and ask them to confirm if
they can meet this deadline.
-
One week later we will send a request for confirmation to
those who did not reply.
-
Another week later we will send a request for confirmation
to those who did not reply. If any reviewer does not confirm within
24 hours, we will send your manuscript to another reviewer and ask for
confirmation again. This new reviewer will also have 4 weeks to review.
-
On the due date, we will send a reminder to those who did
not return their review reports. This reminder will be repeated until
all reviewers return the reports.
-
If any reviewer declines to review the paper at this
late stage, we will immediately find an alternate reviewer and repeat the
aforementioned review process. In order to protect the authors and
minimize the occurrence of this situation, a reviewer who declines to review
at this late stage will be removed from our reviewer list and the institution
in which the reviewer works will be formally notified, unless the reneging
reviewer has a compelling reason for declining the commitment to review.
-
Finally, if for some reason you do not hear from the editor after 8 weeks, please e-mail your paper ID to
the editor-in-chief and explain the situation so that proper action could be taken immediately.
